OmniCom Dos Download

Click here to contact our sales department for download information

Unlike previous versions of OmniCom, there are a number of ways in which you can safely install OmniCom. You can do this through using Windows Explorer or using the Start/Run feature. You no longer have to install from the DOS command prompt. When executing the self-extracting OmniCom file you download from the Omni webpage, you will be prompted for a directory to install OmniCom to. You must choose to install OmniCom to a directory that does not currently exist, for example: C:\OMNI73.17. If you already have a copy of Omnicom installed, do not attempt to install this copy over it. You must remove the old version of OmniCom first or rename the old OmniCom directory before beginning a new install to a directory by the same name.

If you wish to install the downloaded OmniCom on another PC, simply copy the downloaded executable file to a floppy diskette and you can install it on another PC.

OmniCom defaults to version 20 the first time it is started. If you wish to communicate with Omni flow computers that have a version of firmware other than 20, use the UTIL/OMNICOM APPLICATION menu in OmniCom to change to that version.

Note: Unlike previous versions of Windows, when running OmniCom as a DOS session under Windows 2000 or XP, Windows 2000 and XP have the "Quick Edit Mode" turned on by default. Quick Edit Mode allows use of the mouse to select text, cut, copy and paste in the command shell. OmniCom is not compatible with this mode. If you right click on the OmniCom icon and select properties and go to the Misc tab you will see that "quick edit mode" is greyed out and cannot be changed. You have to do the following to change it.

1) Run Omnicom but do not press any keys.

2) Right click the title bar of the DOS window, select properties and uncheck quick edit mode.

3) Click OK.

4) Select Save Properties for Future Windows with the same Title and click OK.

5) Exit Omnicom and then restart Omnicom. You should now be able to use the mouse in Omnicom.
