Inside Sales Specialist

The Inside Sales Specialist is the initial point of customer contact responsible for providing both pre- and post-sales support, including answering customer questions about products, applications, pricing, and delivery, as well as producing quotations and follow-up to quote conversion.

Note: We are currently looking for multiple Inside Sales Specialists, ranging in sales and technical experience level. Please read the qualifications for this position carefully. The successful applicant will be expected to get up to speed quickly, and therefore we will only consider those who meet all the criteria listed below.


  • Provide basic technical solutions and general application assistance to customers.
  • Work directly with customers, Outside Sales Managers, and the Product Support Team to provide pre-sales application support and to generate formal quotations.
  • Provide answers to general questions about OMNI products and services. Also, be able to clearly convey OMNI's differentiation message.
  • Lead customers through the product suite selection process to choose an application to meet their specifications.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure that the quote was received, answer any questions, and identify when an order may be placed.
  • Practice good phone skills in terms of the ability to open, manage, and close a pre-sales technical sales support call. Be timely, accurate, and proactive with regard to each customer interaction.
  • Continue to enhance knowledge of OMNI products, applications, and industries.
  • Provide backup and support for other team members to maintain service and customer satisfaction levels.

and Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales.
  • Demonstrated technical writing ability and interpretation of technical specification documents.
  • Professional verbal and written communication methods and skills.
  • Customer-focused sales and service-oriented demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated and organized.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to gather technical information from a variety of sources to create a quote.
  • Ability to self-manage workload and prioritize with general supervision.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment to identify improvement opportunities and organize resources to address them.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize technical data in order to communicate with the customer and analyze the application to best meet the specification.


Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) with a technical and business focus or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or Associate's degree (AA) plus at least 5 years of related technical sales experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and sales experience. BS in engineering (mechanical, chemical, or industrial) a plus.


All candidates will be tested for MS Office, technical writing, and specification interpretation skills as part of the interview process.
